SERVICES

Brushing at least twice a day and flossing regularly are good habits for healthy teeth, but having routine cleanings and dental check-ups at least once every six months is vital to preventing tooth decay, gum disease, and premature tooth loss. At our offices we offer comprehensive oral exams as well as preventative, reconstructive, and cosmetic dentistry services.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are used to cover chipped, stained, cracked, or misaligned teeth; they also serve as an excellent alternative to crowns. These thin shells of porcelain are bonded to the surface of teeth, through a relatively simple application process. Porcelain is long lasting, and since it reacts to light much the same way enamel does, it has a natural-looking appearance. To learn more about veneers or to find out if porcelain veneers are right for you, contact our offices today.

Porcelain Fillings Inlays/Onlays

Inlays and onlays are used to restore back teeth in cases where the broken or decayed part of the tooth is too large for a filling, yet the damage is not extensive enough for a crown. Both inlays and onlays are bonded to the damaged area of the tooth; however, while inlays are more like fillings between the cusps of the tooth, an onlay extends out over one or more cusps. Because they are made of porcelain, inlays and onlays are virtually indistinguishable from your natural tooth. They not only prevent further decay, but also strengthen teeth. To find out if you can benefit from inlays or onlays, contact us  to schedule an appointment today.

Composite Fillings

Composite fillings, are a popular choice for their aesthetic appeal. Composite looks much like enamel, making them virtually invisible. They are made of a durable, long-lasting resin material bonded directly to your teeth to treat smaller cavities, providing strength while also preventing further decay. Crowns

Crowns, also known as caps, offer a perfect solution to patients with cracked, chipped, injured, or severely decayed teeth. These natural-looking covers fit snugly over damaged teeth to provide support, comfort, and make your smile more aesthetically appealing. To find out if crowns are the right option for you, contact us today.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is performed on teeth with an infected or injured pulp. The pulp is essential to a tooth’s health because it holds vital nerves and provides the tooth with nutrients. If the pulp is injured, the nerves will die. Without endodontic treatment, the root usually becomes infected leading to pain and discomfort. Root canal therapy is designed to save teeth with a damaged pulp. In short, we remove the dead or infected nerve tissue and seal off the canal with a rubber like material called gutta-percha. The tooth is then permanently sealed with a crown.

Dentures

Patients who have lost all of their teeth may benefit from dentures. Dentures can be made to feel comfortable, are durable, and look completely natural. They function like your original teeth and help to support your facial muscles. To learn more about dentures, contact us today.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a superior choice for many patients missing one or more teeth. These artificial tooth roots made of titanium are implanted in the jaw to provide support for replacement teeth. Not only do implants provide aesthetic improvement by filling in the gaps left by the missing teeth, they can be used to support or add retention to a partial or full denture. For more information on dental implants or to find out if they are right for you, contact our office today.

Implant Supported Bridges

Patients missing several teeth may benefit from implant supported bridges. Implant supported bridges improve the health and appearance of your smile by filling in gaps left by missing teeth. They are of particular advantage when there are little to no back teeth and a removable partial is the only other option. With implants, we can replace the back teeth or even front teeth to build back a beautiful smile and strength to chew with. To find out if you can benefit from implant supported bridges, contact us today.

Oral surgery procedures (Extractions)

An extraction is the complete removal of a primary or a permanent tooth. An extraction can be surgical or non-surgical. This depends on the difficulty of the extraction and whether or not the tooth is impacted or erupted, and whether it has straight or curved roots. An extraction may be done by our office or you may be referred to an Oral Surgeon (someone who specializes in difficult or surgical extractions). No one looks forward to an extraction, but modern anesthesia will help keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.

Orthodontics (braces)

The benefits of orthodontic treatment often go beyond the obvious physical changes of an improved bite and straighter teeth; it’s also a great way to improve a person’s overall self-image.   While having beautiful straight teeth is important, even more important is the need to alleviate any potential health problems associated with the teeth or jaw.  Crooked teeth or jaw problems may contribute to improper cleaning of teeth, leading to tooth decay and, possibly, gum disease or total tooth loss.  Orthodontic problems that go untreated can lead to chewing and digestion difficulties, speech impairments, and abnormal wear of tooth surfaces.  Over time, excessive strain on gum tissue and the bone that supports the teeth can affect the jaw joints leading to problems such as headaches or face and neck pain.

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children get an orthodontic evaluation no later than age 7.  Though orthodontic treatment can be done at any age, timely treatment ensures maximum dental health.

Invisalign

Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. Invisalign has been proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic practices nationwide.

How does Invisalign work?

You wear each set of aligners for two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position we have prescribed for you. You'll visit our office about every 6 weeks to enure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9 to 15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case. The end result is wonderfully straight teeth without the large unsightly metal braces!

Periodontal treatment (Gum Therapy)

Periodontal diseases are caused by certain types of bacteria in plaque that forms on the teeth. These bacteria create toxins, which irritate the gums and break down the attachment of gum tissues to the teeth. Over a period of time, these toxins can destroy gum tissues, allowing the infection to progress to the underlying bone. In addition, unremoved plaque combines with other materials and hardens into a rough, porous deposit called calculus (tarter). This calculus builds up underneath the gum line making it more difficult to properly clean your teeth, and then leads to periodontal disease.

TMJ therapy

If you suffer from a painful, aching jaw, if your teeth are sore and sensitive, if you wake up with a stiff neck, if you suffer from frequent and recurring tension headaches/and or morning headaches, then you might find the NTI appliance a great source of relief.

These problems can be treated because they are most likely caused by clenching your teeth while you are sleeping and occasionally throughout the day. Clenching your teeth while sleeping and during the day is a result of some of the strongest muscles in your body tensing up (up to six to twenty times more intensity that non-sufferers). The high intensity contractions of these powerful muscles become painful, and the forces generated cause pain and even damage to the surrounding tissues, joints, teeth and other muscles. By reducing the intensity of the clenching, you are minimizing the source of the pain in many cases, in just a few days.
